I had two emails on my Thunderbird. I deleted one by mistake. The G Mail account still works. I tried to reenter my Spectrum Account and I keep getting that my configuration user name or password are wrong. I checked all settings and they appear to be correct. I also deleted the account and tried reinstalling it and got the same result. I also tried to enter a new email account that I just got. I had the same result. Keeps asking me to reenter the password. (would be helpful if it would say why it is wrong (password, setting, etc.) I spent hours on this today. I worked with the Spectrum agent and we couldn't fix it. Bur it seems to be a general problem because I get the same result with both accounts.

Chosen solution

Just a possibility: some email providers (such as Gmail and gmx.com) require that a setting be ticked at the online account before IMAP or POP is allowed. Also, mail.com requires a paid subscription to run on a PC.

Try creating the account this way:

- go to TB menu > Settings > General > Account hub > uncheck 'Create accounts in the new Account Hub'

- go to TB menu > New Account > Email

I did this yesterday. I got the one associated with this email to work (finally). The Hub doesn't have a way to manually try to change the settings. I am still working on the Mail.com. It doesn't want to accept the password, Will work on it more today.

Apparently the problem is I don't have their app because I don't have a cp. It really bugs me that you are considered a second class person these days if you don't have a cp. I used to have one and never used it. It is just something else to lose Thank you
