For some reason after I restarted my laptop (firefox was opened) Mozilla was reset. I was logout from my acc and also firefox isn't my default browser (I didnt anything with it). Btw if I tried to open any link system will open it via firefox. But firefox still said that its not default browser in system. And if I open default apps in Windows I have 2 firefox there (and both recommend me to set is as default). Except FF I have only edge that also said that I can set is as default. After I login in my acc in firefox I haven't anything. No history, no passwords, extensions etc. What I can do here? I tried to use sync but as result I still have nothing.

Never cough smth like this before in same cases.

I just want to say that if Firefox goes through with this AI bs, I will promptly be finding a new browser. The whole point of me using Firefox is it is the best browser for privacy, which I care about greatly. AI integration and personal privacy are mutually exclusive; they can't exist without each other. So do not become an "AI browser," or whatever the CEO called it. It is only going to kill a great product that is basically the only thing stopping google from having a web browser monopoly.

If I go to the profile folder, exit firefox then copy and paste the folder to a backup location. The attempted backup fails. Something about permissions as I recall. I have tried many things unsuccessfully. Something has changed that does not allow for the backup of profile folders. Adding a backup option to the profile manager would be nice. I noticed some people have found work-arounds but I need a straight-forward procedure for backing up my folders. No work-arounds please, just a simple procedure. May I ask for help with this issue?

My Profile Folders can't be backed up. Messages I receive while attempting a backup state that permissions are required to backup certain files. I'm working in an administrator account so that shouldn't be an issue and I use to backup my Profile Folders without an issue.

To the Firefox development community:

I started using Firefox... well, before it was Firefox. In the early browser wars, I was a devotee of Netscape. After high school, Firefox became a thing, and I was an early adopter. For years I eagerly spoke of the glories of the open source browser, and even when Chrome came around with its "new hotness", I stuck with Firefox. It was, I reckoned, just better.

However, something has happened which has shaken my faith in the browser - and in the Mozilla foundation entirely. As the whole internet screams "WE DO NOT WANT AI", as Valve gets endless kudos from its userbase and a reputation as "the only good monopoly" because it forces its game listings to have disclaimers if AI touches games in any way, and as it becomes known that ChatGPT is pushing teens to suicide...

Mozilla has decided "hey we want that in our browser!"

No.

No.

No.

No.

No.

This is the greatest betrayal of a userbase I can imagine. LLMs are the antithesis to the open-source, "you can see what goes into it" mindset that Firefox has had for over 20 years. It is bloat. It is built on plagiarism - by default, all LLMs are built by scraping huge amounts of data that their designers do not own.

Thankfully, there IS a branch of Firefox that does not use AI - the Waterfox project - and I will be turning my attention there. But mark my words - by deciding that the last holdout against putting AI in everything SHOULD put AI in it, you have soured an incredible amount of the goodwill that you have built up.

My personal recommendation: Fire the idiot who made this decision and replace him with ANYONE who has a modicum of sense in the Foundation.

As a last comment, I will say that I am ending it here because I believe this says enough of what I am thinking and feeling at the moment; if I was to say everything it would be approximately 90 pages long and be 35% obscenity by volume, and I don't think the forum rules allow that. Good evening, and may Mark Surman stub his toe every 129 seconds for the rest of his life.

The only reason Firefox has remained relevant in any way—the reason myself & everyone I know switched from Chrome in the first place—is because of the fact that privacy is respected and there aren't superfluous features bloating the browser. Nobody wants more AI integration, least of all the people using THIS browser!

If these changes don't stop, sooner than later myself (& many others, as is evident by the overwhelming response) will be migrating to a new browser. This is not what we came here for! Don't fix what isn't broken, and listen to your users!

I use Firefox every day and have since the browser's very early days. I have a Firefox account, and am logged in when using it.

Typically, I have some pinned tabs (calendar, for instance) and also some tab groups (Container Tabs). There are usually a small number of open tabs. For example, this week, I have been googling spreadsheet formulas for a Google Sheet I am working on.

Occasionally, perhaps once every couple of months. when I open the browser, everything is gone. All the pinned tabs, tab groups, and the tabs I'd left open deliberately are not there. Just one tab (Google), is open.

I can re-open the container tabs and add them to the tab bar again, try and remember which tabs were pinned and redo those, but having to trawl through history to find the very detailed searches for spreadsheet formulas and work-rounds - is all very tedious and shouldn't be happening!

It has only been happening for at most a year, maybe seven or eight times in total, but those seven or eight times shouldn't happen.

I have searched for a way to restore it to how it was the last time I closed it, but cannot find any way to restore Firefox to how it had been.

I am using an a fairly new ASUS laptop (but it happened on my previous PC too), with Windows 11 installed and up-to-date. Firefox is always kept up-to-date too.

Any suggestions would be very welcome.

I'm certain I'm not alone in this. I use Firefox because it offers greater privacy, security, and customizability, and because I seek to eliminate as many potential interaction points with AI as possible. I've been deeply annoyed by the features already introduced; furthering Firefox's descent into another AI-forward browser is the opposite of what I want in a using experience. When this happens, I will have to find a browser that better suits my needs.

Differences in the display of Firefox and Chrome styles on the website https://aistudio.google.com. In the first photo, Chrome and the styles look as they should, but in the second photo, Firefox and the styles do not work. I understand that this is most likely the fault of Google, which has prioritized optimization for Chrome over full cross-browser compatibility, but are there any solutions to fix this?

I have signed out of my PC and mobile devices Done a complete uninstall of firefox on the Windows 11 machine Searched and removed ALL files on the drive associated with Firefox or Mozilla, including cache and temp Searched and removed ALL Firefox or Mozilla keys in the registry Checkdisk Used update to refresh the windows install Multiple reboots

and a fresh download and install of Firefox. And still get the "already running" error. If I wait long enough - several minutes - I will get the "crash report" screen as the background process finally ends.

Any suggestions?

Firefox has been the most mainstream "good guy" browser for a long time, but it's no system's default. People use Firefox deliberately -- installing it by choice. We have other options (like LibreWolf) waiting for us, and we'll leave with one of them as soon as it's the better option. Save your money, save your customer base, save the environment, and don't try and shove another useless AI down our throats.

I'm sure you've seen the many, many other responses detailing how a lot of long time users are upset, caught-off-guard, and losing their faith in Firefox and its team.

And I'm adding one more.

I am, for lack of a better term, not an op-sec obsessed redditor ready to move into the woods and only use tech from the 90s. I'm just a guy, who switched from The Other browser after constant data-focused scandals, and disregarding of their own userbase. And now! My beloved fox browser seems to be diving headfirst into that same kiddie pool. That sucks immensely. I won't lie and say I've been reading every single update, and blog post and whatsoever about the CEO change. I read about it 10 minutes ago! But it is still, confounding to me the change in direction, and I will no longer be holding others' hands and helping them switch over to Firefox.

This bubble will pop. It saddens me to see how greed wraps itself around peoples' hearts and suffocates them.

Hi. According to my observations, only Mozilla Firefox and Adobe Reader have this problem so far.

Windows 11 + Multi-Monitoring Windows 10 have this Bug not !

Open Firefox, drag the window to the second or third monitor, and suddenly there is another hidden Firefox window on the taskbar of that display. If you move Firefox back to the main monitor, it disappears again. Or you can close Firefox and restart it on the desired monitor.

This is an annoying little bug, and I don't understand why Microsoft or Mozilla haven't fixed it yet. It's easy to reproduce and has obviously been around for a while. Since it only affects the two programs mentioned above so far, an MS update will probably not fix it; instead, the developers at Mozilla and Adobe need to address it.

Here the Same Topic in Adobe Forum. No bug fix to date

https://community.adobe.com/t5/acrobat-discussions/taskbar-phantom-window-when-using-multiple-monitors/td-p/14390169

I hope you release a bug fix soon... but since that hasn't happened yet, I'm afraid it will take a while... I'm surprised, because I'm sure many people are experiencing this annoying problem, and in my opinion it's not a big challenge for your developers.

@Mozilla Please Fix this Bug. I know Windows 11 is not better than Windows 10 but Supports End and many Users and Customers used in Future this OS and if you don't want to lose any more market share, it's important to fix this minor bug for ordinary users too. Thanks ;-)

I use firefox as my browser of choice because it seems to be the only large browser not yet completely flooded with AI slop and bloatware. I'm incredibly disappointed that the new direction seems to be "becoming a modern AI browser". I don't care if I can opt-in or opt-out of AI tools for my personal browser experience - simply their presence presents a safety, efficiency, ethical and privacy concern.

The ONE THING that puts firefox above other browsers and why it is gaining more users recently is because it hasn't jumped into the AI-toilet along with Chrome etc. Yet. If Firefox moves forward with the implementation of more AI tools, regardless of individual opt-in options, I will have no choice but to stop using firefox. I am simply not interested in wading through excrement.
